Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Beads of Hope T1D LLC ("Beads of Hope," "we," "us,") governing your use of beadsofhopet1d.com and any related services (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to place orders or create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

2. Orders & pricing

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. We may refuse or cancel any order, including orders that contain pricing or inventory errors. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes and shipping unless stated. You authorize us (and our payment processor, Stripe) to charge your payment method for the total of your order.

3. Handmade products & custom designs

Every piece is handmade. Slight variations in color, bead placement, and finish are part of the craft and are not defects. Custom designs are made to order; once production begins, custom items are non-refundable and non-exchangeable except in the case of our error or a defect. See our Refund Policy for details.

4. Shipping & risk of loss

Shipping options, costs, and estimated transit times are shown at checkout. Risk of loss and title for purchased items passes to you upon our delivery to the carrier. See our Shipping Policy for processing times, carriers, and lost-package handling.

5. Donations

Donations support T1D awareness materials, gifts to newly diagnosed families, and operating costs. Unless we expressly state otherwise, donations made through the Site are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. Donations are non-refundable except in cases of processing error.

6. Story submissions & user content

When you submit a story, photo, or other content ("User Content"), you confirm that you own it or have permission to share it, and that publishing it on the Site or our social channels will not violate any third-party rights. You grant Beads of Hope a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share your User Content on the channels for which you have explicitly granted permission. You may revoke that permission at any time by emailing info@beadsofhopet1d.com; we will remove the content from our Site and stop sharing it within a reasonable period.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for unlawful purposes or to violate any third-party rights.
• Attempt to access, probe, or scan accounts or systems you are not authorized to use.
• Interfere with the Site, introduce malware, or scrape content except as permitted by our robots.txt.
• Submit false information, impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation.

8. Intellectual property

The Site, including text, graphics, logos, designs, photographs, and software, is owned by or licensed to Beads of Hope T1D LLC and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. Except for User Content you have rights to, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

9. Medical disclaimer

Beads of Hope shares community stories and awareness information, not medical advice. Nothing on the Site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical decisions related to Type 1 Diabetes or any other condition.

10. Disclaimers

The Site and all products are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beads of Hope T1D LLC and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of your use of the Site or products. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or a product will not exceed the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to the claim in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Beads of Hope T1D LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your misuse of the Site.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Site will be the state or federal courts located in the State of North Carolina, USA, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated effective date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted by a notice on the Site or by email.
