What we make
Four things, done well. Beaded pens ($10) write with refillable ink and are the most-gifted piece we make — teachers, nurses, and clinic staff all end up with one. Badge reels ($12) clip to a lanyard and survive a full hospital or school shift. Keychains and bag charms ($12) ride on backpacks and diabetes supply bags, which is where most of ours end up.
Everything is beaded with food-grade silicone beads — light, water-resistant, and wipe-clean. We do not use glass, wood, or crystal beads, because they crack in a backpack and we build these for real daily use.
Who it's for
Beads of Hope T1D is run by a family raising a kid with Type 1 diabetes, and a share of every order supports T1D awareness and education. Most of our customers are shopping for someone specific:
- Gifts for newly diagnosed T1D kids — small, non-food things a child can carry.
- Nurse badge reel gifts — for floor nurses, school nurses, and care teams.
- Teacher appreciation pens — a $10 gift that actually gets used.
- Type 1 diabetes resources — what helped our family in the first year.
- School fundraising profit calculator — see what your school could raise.
